the best way to get it to heal is to take care of it or you'll pay for it when you get older. trust me on the this dealing with the result of being an idiot when i was younger and my ankle is trashed.
the best thing to do is stay off of it as much as possible. if you can't bear weight on it without a limp it would probaby be a good idea to get a pair of crutches or a cane or something to help take the weight off of it. the other thing is
RICE = Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation
If it's swollen or discolored in any way I would definetly get to a doctor ASAP to make sure it's not broken, same thing if it doesn't start feeling better with in 48-72 hours.
Trust me on this you want to take care of it because if you don't you'll regret it when you're older.

strengthen the muscles so it wont happen again...there are many things to do, bu complicated to explain..i roll my ankles all the time..well before i did the exercises.

Tiger Balm works wonders, and Ginseng tea. may sound hokey, but my cousin used both after shattering his legs in a motorcycle accident. he was told he'd never walk again, and now he's walking. hope this helps.
