#1 Trauma, Otherwise in no particular order- mono, sepsis (streptococci most common folowed by staph., gram negative organisms and anaerobes), leukemia, and very rarely a pancreatic psuedocyst dissecting into the spleen. Vascular aneurysms and hemangiomas might as well.

I heard mono could make your spleen burst but I don't know if that's true or not

Not sure, but at a guess I would say:
Internal Hemorrhage - bleeding
Infection
Aggressive Cancer
Toxic Substance
Trauma that is not known about, but did occur, such as if the person was hurt whilst unconscious.

Have you been sick? Alot of vomiting could cause this.
