I does sound like you have OCD and there are no home remedy's except to act out your rituals or whatever you want to call them. The only way to stop inconveniencing yourself is to seek help and no it doesn't mean your crazy. It just means that you have some kind of imbalance in your brain that needs to be balanced again and you can do this by taking a prescribed medication. I would go see a doctor so he can do an evaluation and prescribe you the right medication.

Well yes i think you may have OCD, it sounds like it is not fully blown up yet, so you seem to be keeping it under control. It is passed on in the gene pool, that is how you got it. This only becomes OCD when it is effecting your life so you can not funtion normally, what ever normally may be. There is medication that may help, and in the future if it gets out of hand, yes you may have to see a Shrink if you like it or not, sorry in about that one. Now at the age of 55 years old you can burn out on it, if not then you will have it for the rest of your life. Right now it is controling you cause you do the knocking on each hand and that. So be wear ok, that if it gets worse, and it can, then you may have to get some professional help. I know you don't want to but it will be better then living in a world that controls you. By the way I am not bi polar.

Yes it does sound like OCD. I would say that you have OCD.
There are no 'remedies' or 'fixes' for OCD. The only thing that a doctor can do for you is to help you stop showing too many OCD signs to other people. They can also prescribe anti-depressants (i think), to help with the stress that is caused by OCD.
I dont recomend that you start taking drugs though. It is natural to have OCD, and it isnt caused by anything. You are still normal. Just think happy thoughts and live your life as best as you can.

In my opinion this may slightly be OCD, but everyone has their own rituals, right?
I suggest that you try to refreign from doing some of the ridiculous ones like knocking on wood seven times.
I do have to admit that I knock on wood.
Try doing it just once and see how you feel afterward.
Have a nice day =)

I have mild OCD, and mine isn't that bad. Yours sounds like a step up from mild.
For home remedies, try St. John's Wort. It's an herb, so consult an herbalist before taking it. And remember - NEVER EAT HERBS! They can be poisonous! Find it in capsule form, and you'll be all set.
This isn't a cure, but it will hinder the effects of OCD.

It does sound like OCD, and it doesn't sound that mild to me. Our family suffers a little from that. My daughter says she has to do things in multipules of 4. (She is only 9 years) but she doesn't seem overly bothered by it. It does sound like this is disrupting your life. If I were you I would research it online and also check out some books from the public library. They will be able to give you some sound advice. Best of luck to you.

Here are a couple of sites which may help you. I have Bipolar Disorder and all of the OCD traits are part of being Bipolar. I see a therapist once every three months, but if you don't want to do that then check out these sites.

Well I am not a doctor, but that does sound like it could be OCD.
You should go see a doctor. A psychiatrist would be best. OCD won't kill you, but there isn't a "cure."
There may be medicine that a psychiatrist could prescribe, but I don't know for sure.

Yes it definately sounds like OCD to me, my ex girlfriend did much the same thing.
There are no home remedies for it BUT it isn't something to worry about in most circumstances.
And your "quirks" don't seem to be anything that you should worry too much about.
A lot of people won't even notice it.
