take a piece of paper & make a funnel shape. it's the easiest way without getting them all over the place.

a home made pastry cone will not fall apart when you are pouring the peppercorns into the mill:
Here is how you make one.
Fold a sheet of 8x11 paper from corner to corner.
Rip the paper along the seam
Put the paper so that it looks like a mishapen triangle with the point facing away from you.
Roll the odd looking side into a funnel shape
Bring the long corners together and staple
(pastry people will fold the top over and make a tear to hold it together)

I take a piece of paper and make it into a cone shape, the pour the peppercorns in. Easy.

Use a sheet of paper, and kinda roll it into a funnel. Then pour in a few peppercorns at a time, so they dont' get jammed.
