what if someone took my credit?

one of my family members got creditcards in my name and never payed on them and never told me about them so i could fix it now what do i do i cant get a cell phone in my name,i am in need of info about what i need to doto get my credit fixed i dont know what all creditcards they got it has been while i was locked up about 10years of creditcards and non payments please tell me what i need to do please

First, put an alert on your credit reports for identity theft.

Second, look at your credit reports. www.AnnualCreditReport.com. See what is not yours. Contact those creditors in writing, with your prison paperwork, and dispute the charges. Give them your family member's information so they can go after them.

First, decide if you are willing to press charges against the family member. If you are not, you have effectively taken responsibility for what they did in your name. If you are willing to press charges, file a police report and submit copies to each of the creditors along with their own fraud report forms. You will have to provide evidence that you were not the person using the accounts.

the first thing you should do is go to annualcreditreoprt.com to get a copy of your credit report...then file a report with the police for idenity theft...then contact equifax, transunion and experian and put a theft report on your credit and dispute all the accounts that were put in your name that were not yours..

start out by canceling the credit card account then calling the police this way the wont get any money from you
