nothing else in my house has been disturbed, and the doors have been locked to my house. the outlets are tight, and you have to give the plug a good tug for it to come out - they don't just randomly fall out. Is there any logical anwser to this?

The only logical answer is, you're overlooking the one possibility that could cause it. If it starts to bother you too much, hire a detective. Or use reverse Murphy's law.... make sure nothing can go wrong by hardwiring the set's AC wiring directly to the outlet's wiring. Be sure to turn the breaker off first, though.

I have to give you a thumbs-up for this one, it's just such a wonderful question. I have no answer, but a couple of ways you could record what's going on. One is to hook up a clock so if the plug is pulled, the clock stops and you know when it happened. You could probably rig a camera to trip, too. If you can hook a video camera up you could keep constant surveillance (although you might have to have somebody come in and change the tape in the middle of your work shift). This would work best if you made the taping system self-contained, like battery operated with a converter. You don't want the surveillance system unplugged, too. Could happen, you know.
