I got a fix it ticket- for drving without a front plate- and, I couldn't find my insurance. he wrote that on the fix it ticket too- and now I have to go to court.

.. well, I called my husband- and I found out the front plate fell off last week and It was in my trunk the whole time.
AND- after the cop drove off, I found my insurance folded inside another paper.

I'm in CA. what happens now- my court date is 2 months away- what should I expect?

You have to go to court and tell your story. The Judge will then decide your fine and/or sentence.

I don't believe you have to goto court, it is a fix it ticket. Once you've fixed the things you were ticketed for a peace officer can sign them off, you pay the fee and you're done. You can also goto the traffic court, I would call them to find out exactly what you must do.

You can take the truck to the police department and have them check that the above items have been "fixed". Then take the appropriate paperwork to the court and the ticket should magically disappear.

Don't ignore the situation just because you fixed it, because I have seen warrants issued for lesser offenses.

Um...I've only been to Pennsylvania traffic court but I would imagine that it would go something like they ask you to produce your insurance documentation, and they ask you if you have reattached the license plate to the front of your car, and when you have, the charges get dropped. What else would you be expecting?
