The arm-chopping, Muslim approach will never pass Constitutional muster. With regard to those sentenced to death, if we make their remains available to the market in human organs immediately after being executed that would help recover a lot of what they cost the state up to that point--or, better yet, give the proceeds to the victim's survivors.

if we done your first suggestion,once released,they would still be a burden on society,they still need fed. part two,if we legalize drugs we'd have even more violence.and 3rd,we do make mistakes in judgement,and there is no way back from the grave. so here is a thought. 1st off, when you open a buisiness there are laws that tell you how u can and can't operate. so we should make laws that require the shipping ind. to not allow any cargo out of the ports without being checked,and that is possible if we were to build lots of good, strong, affordable housing along the waterfronts,and hire lots of people to come @ live @work checking the cargo if people live close to work, they wont be forced to have the auto/ins./gas . so the rise in import can be offset by lower gas prices etc.

the solution is to actually come up with a real meaning to rehabilitation and to create an education program for police officers.jailers and prison guards that teach a more effective way of treating those that cross their paths than the degrading bullying i have witnessed here in my city.
