I have just been through benzodiazepine withdrawal and I can tell you that the majority of the medical community are completely ignorant about how this can be done safely, even rehab and detox facilities.

The advice that I'm about to give you is the advice that I wish had been given to me a year ago.

The world's leading authority on benzo detox is Professor C. Heather Ashton, University of New Castle, in England. Her guide on how to safely taper benzodiazepines is commonly known as "The Ashton Manual." Below is a link to it:

Unless there is some info you're leaving out, I can't imagine why a neurologist would be interested in benzo detox. This can be handled by any regular medical doctor.
