As a whole, Christian understand that Jesus was a Jew

In what many Christians call the Old Testament , the nature of the Messiah ( the one that will set mankind free from the bondage of sin) is continually narrowed down.

It starts out that God takes the lead in lifting this bondage. Man cannot break the bondage of sin, because he is the one that is in that bondage. Therefore the Messiah will be God. In the third chapter of the first book of the Bible, that was written several thousand years before Jesus lived, God says two things; first the Messiah will be a man, and second that man will be the SEED of a woman. Now the seed comes from the male and the egg comes from the woman. Therefore, Messiah would have no earthly father. He would be virgin born. (Genesis 3:15)

Later God tells Abraham that the Messiah would come from his line. Abraham was the father of the Israelites. Much later He told King David that Messiah would come from his line. David came from the Israelite tribe of Judah. All people of that tribe are called Jews.

When the wisemen came looking for Messiah, they asked "Where is the King of the Jews?"

A short repy to your question. Yes Christians as a whole realize that the Messiah is Jewish. Christians also realize that the one that they are worshipping is God.

Yes, knowledgeable Christians most certainly know that He Who was the Everlasting God did condescend to become Incarnate as one of Adam's fallen race ... to become Incarnate as Jesus, Yeshua, Emmanuel, the coming Prince of Peace, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

We worship Him Who became a Jew, He Who was the Eternal God, He Who created the Universe and all created things.

He Who shall reign upon the Throne of His ancestor David and over the nations, tribes, and ethnic groups of this Earth. His Earth.

God chose the Jewish nation because at that time they were the ones who believed in God. Jesus, came to the world through the Jewish nation and while He lived He was Jewish. He practised all their ceremony and laws to the letter. But He also turned His focus on the Gentiles and well , here we are. I don't hate Jews and I wish them well.
