Would you date someone in a wheel chair who is say 225lbs. if you shared the same interests as them and didn't solely care about appearance which they cannot do anything about?

BTW, I'm checking to see if they wouldn't mind because i'm the one in an electric wheel chair due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and always wondered about the reaction i would get from people.

fat people kinda disgust me and not because I dislike them but just because I can't understand how people can let food take over their lives, or anything for that matter. but if you don't mind fat, then do what you want, you may never find anyone perfect that you have as much in common with. just make sure it isn't pity. I know when you are in a wheel chair you don't have much else to do that gives gratification but eat. you say you don't solely care about appearance but that doesn't say you don't care about it at all just that it's not a focal point for you. love has no color or appearance or weight, it just is.

A person who doesn't care about the outside apperence and only about the inner is the true hott and manly guy. Those guys or girls who tend to get the apples on the bottom who are rotten and bruised, are the 1's I call shallow and worthless, but r easy to get r not as brave to climb to the top and get the true apples that r harder to get but reward u in the end. Those r the true and happy people. I think if this person makes u happy then go 4 it what do u have to loss, except a rotten apple! good luck

Well, I hate to say it but I probably wouldn't because we probably wouldn't be able to have the kind of relationship I would like. I mean, I would still be friends with him though. I'm not a mean person or anything I'm just saying that things probably wouldn't work out, especially cuz I'm a real active person and like to play sports and go ice skating and snowboarding and all that kind of stuff.

I personally would not, but then again I am shallow. If you like/love the person in the wheel chair, go for it, your doing the right thing alot of men are to shallow to do.

I honestly don't know. I will never say never....so it's possible. I do think that it would more so end up that we were friends for a long long time prior to actually dating.
If you are in that situation were you are thinking about it and wondering what others would think. only worry about how true you would be to that person. let that be your deciding factor.

Is 225 bad? I like my guys heavier and I am only 100 lbs. I guess that would rule me out as being much help carrying him around much, but I would still go out with him.

Funny you would ask this... I had to make that choice. I decided yes I would, I was very close friends with him and we where going to take it slow. But it didnt work out.

well i would date somebody thats in a wheel chair dats 225lbs.it depends a person could b 6'1 feet,so that doesnt make them fat

I would be friends with them. I don't get sexuality confused with empathy. I want healthy genetic children. My instincts tell me so and my logic does too. But that doesn't mean it is impossible, just that given the various choices, it is very unlikely.
