HDTV means a TV can display high definition. Plasma, lcd, dlp, are types of TV's. Plasma, lcd, & dlp's can display high def only if it specifies that it is a HDTV or HD-READY.

Plasma tvs are HDTVs. HD means High Definition.

they are actually the same, all plasma can project the HD's resolution except the older lcd tvs. New LCD TVs that can project HD quality are HD ready
