It all started weeks ago with a pain in my kidney area that felt like a kidney stone. It was not as the pain would fade when I sat down or exercised. One day, I stood and let the pain get terrible, then it was like a "shutdown" and it moved to this numbness in my leg. I don't feel the pain anymore, just the numbness. Is this kind of thing just a nuisance or could I be getting permanent nerve damage? I don't have great health insurance and I know some specialist will cost a fortune. Any experience with this or what it might be? It only seems to occur mostly when I stand in one place or sit. It is unnerving as I could probably stick a knife in my leg and not feel it when it gets totally numb. Thanks!

Your problem is probably a pinched nerve called the psyatic nerve. A good chiropractor will be able to help you.

This happened to my husband after a back injury. Sounds like your sciatica nerve is pinched. I I would see a chiropractor.

It sounds like your sciatic nerve. I have similar pains because of a car accident. I severly displaced my tailbone(coccyx) and that is the same thing I suffer. heck out this website it may have answers for you.

It's probably sciatica. What you describe sounds like something similar to what I had. Check out this site and see if this sounds like what you're experiencing. If so, I found relief through either/both chiropractic care and medical massage therapy.

go to a doctor now!! discuss with him your familys history as this may be a sign of inherited mutations. This could even be a sign of a weakening muscle. Talk to your doctor about any history realting to that.
