A serving of cheese is only 1 ounce. I love cheese and that just would not satisfy me. But like others have said, cheese is the last thing you should be thinking about on a diet. If you really have to have it, have it SPARINGLY. Make it a treat. One serving a week and when you have it, savor it.
As for snacks I would suggest almonds (not too many though, they are really good for you but can give you an upset stomach and too much fat if you eat too many), pumpkin seeds, popcorn, fruit, rice cakes (you can get flavored ones in low fat varieties, or you can put a small amount of pbutter on them), crackers, yogurt, carrot sticks, celery...
I would not suggest raisins as a snack because they are really high in sugar.

I began a diet about 6 weeks ago and have been successful. What I do is have all the coffee I want in the am for breakfast. For lunch I eat all the vegetables I want and I also have some meat, but I guess you could skip that. At night for dinner I eat more vegetables and meat. That does good until my usual snack time and I have found that fudge pops fill this void. The no added sugar ones only have 40 cal. each. It usually takes 4 for me before bedtime. After the first week it gets easier. Dont give in. If it is fried dont eat it. no sugar, pasta, no BREAD or alchohol. Doing this I have lost 12 lbs. in 6 weeks. good luck! Take a good vitamin. Drink only water after breakfast.

Popcorn is a good snack, ensure it isn't loaded with salt or butter. There are chips produced from vegeatables like parsnips and sweet potatoes, i'm not sure what they're called however they sell them at costco and walmart. Unroasted, unsalted sunflower or pumpkin seeds. Kashi granola bars, my individual fav is chocolate chip cherry. Other then that i do not know, simply attempt to steer clear of relatively salty, fatty or sugary meals.

In my opinion, one of the best low cal, filling snacks is 94% fat free microwave popcorn. You can eat a pretty large portion for a relatively small number of calories and it expands in your stomach, making you feel like you've eaten a lot more. Plus, it's yummy. :)
Some of my other faves are frozen Edy's Fruit Bars (some flavors are fat free!): http://www.edys.com/brand/fruitbars/flav...
If you love chocolate, or for a high-fiber snack or an easy breakfast to take with you, try low fat Fi-bars: http://www.fi-bar.com/. I love them!
Good luck!

Well, to tell you the truth, cheese is one of the things that you have to avoid the most when dieting. Why do you think pizza is so bad? because it has lots of cheese. My doctor and personmal trianer told me it would be much better if it didnt have cheese, so I recommend you not to eat it.
I am doing a diet too (and you better do exercise if you want to really progress, I am doing exercise since 6 months and im extremely happy with my body). of course, if you can, eat fruits.I dont eat them many times, I try at least three times per week, but its better at least twice a day. for healthy snacks. you can always eat quaker bars, some soda cookies (the ones that are white, sorry idk how to name them xD), YOGURT, those diet shakes, etc. Just go to your local supermarket and there'll be many diet things in there.
GOOD LUCK!

Fruit and veggies are always a good choice. Almonds are also a good option. I would say cottage cheese instead of cheddar cheese would be your best bet. Go for snacks with more fiber because that fills you up. A small yogurt with ALL BRAN in it is one of my favorites, because it is very healthy and fills you up fast. Good Luck!

I'm not an expert or anything, but I do like to work out and eat healthy, especially light and healthy snacks. Here are some things I enjoy:
Carrot and celery sticks
Rice cakes w/ light spread of Peanut Butter and slices of Banana
Cheese and crackers (not too much though)
Bowl of cereal (I like oats cereals)
Granola bars and fruit bars (but not ones with too much sugar)
Yogurt
Pretzels
Nuts/Trail Mix
Hope this helps!

Carrots, celery, apples, oranges, pumpkin seeds, and other healthy items.
Don't eat too much cheese, because it contains a lot of fat. The same goes for peanut butter. Sometimes peanut butter contains 50% fat. If you can find cheese or peanut butter that is reduced fat, it would be okay in moderation. Wholegrain foods in moderation are also okay.
