Tattoo Idea?

Question

I want to get a tattoo with something to do with my mom and dad, and say Mom and Dad. I want to get it something on my chest. The thing is, I dont really want it right in the middle because then when I wear low cut shirts, thats all you'll see. And Im big on evenness, so having it on one side wouldnt do. I was thinking Mom on one side and Dad on the other. But I need some ideas! Any you have is appreciated!

I think something that'd be a lot cuter is getting a mom tattoo on one of your feet, and a dad tattoo on the other.
Get specific designs that represent each parent but also match.

I would suggest getting one that is personal to you. For instance if your mom's name is rose get a rose, if your Dad is Italian... get something that represents him and his country. I think that you do not want to become "covered" in tattoos, so I would suggest for instance, using the above senerio, get a "rose" with a banner across the stem with the colors of the italian flag. This is simple and will look nice on your ankle or even in the small of your back. Remember, this is going to be something you will have to live with and something you want to show proudly. Whatever you decide I hope that the you are happy with the results.

Something with that means huh? Well how can a load of strangers deliver you suggestions which are significant to you? Only you'll make a decision what's significant, to a couple humans their butterfly tattoos are deeply significant, it is simply now not your style, that is all. Sorry however that is some thing you must study and make a decision for your self.

any ways.......
i think the idea of having two similar tattoos, with one on either side of your chest would be nice, but i am not too fond of the idea of just "mom" and "dad."
maybe you could use symbols to symbolize something that reminds you of them.
if there are things that you remember from your childhood that remind you of your parents, you could try to to incorporate them into the designs, and then use the words Mom & Dad under or above them.
but i think Mom & Dad by themselves is just too literal, unless that is the look you are going for.
whatever you decide on, dont let anyone on here dissuade you from doing anything that you want to do.
just remember that tattoos are permanant, so make sure you sleep on the idea to make sure it is what you really want!

a new skool tattoo with a traditional design would be great. like a heart on either side with a banner that says mom and dad. maybe with roses or more hearts. or sparrows, one on each side that are holding banners that say mom on one and dad on the other. very cool idea i think. great tribute to your parents.

I, personally, don't like tatoos on women. But that just may be because I've only seen them on the fat, middle-aged women that flaunt their sagging, fading tatoos at the beach where I live or I've seen the "hardcore-rocker" type that have them from head-to-toe. But look at Eve! Her tatoos are gorgeous, yet subtle. I would think of your heritage and find the words for mom and dad in your ancestor's language. Or you could find the words in something else, like latin. Also I would get the tatoo in a simple black, keep it small and subtle (like Eve's paws), and get it in a fancy script. Hope I helped! Talk to a tattoo artist about this. You can research lots of different kinds of writing here online. I suggest that it will be in a foreign writing style, because honestly MOM and DAD on your chest isn't vey interesting.

It all depends on what reminds you of them, or what would symbolize them to you...i personally would think of a sky when it comes to my dad (i dont get a long with my mom) and say sky because to me my dad helps me get to my highest potential....cheesy i know...but thats just me...so you could try like a sky with clouds and their names in script or something...

but like others have said too...your best bet would be to go inside a tattoo parlor and ask some artists...

I know what you mean about eveness. I would get one on each side right inside of where your bra straps run, just under your collar bone. Good luck!
