one thing is you have to get them to learn that they just have to listen to you and its not the end of the world haha but we all know that is hard. some kids will like to watch in the mirror and u can say how pretty she is gonna be when she is done. and talk to her about what you are doing and keep her distracted from the possible pain lol

Believe me when I say I had that same problem with my 2/12 year old daughter. Here is what I started to do so she will let me do her hair. Every child likes to play in the water,so I just turned on the tap and let her play away. She loved playing in the water, this game me plenty of time to do her hair. It also works for brushing their teeth as well. Try it I'm sure it will works for you also.

We do her hair in the bathroom. She is 18 months and stand there and lets me do it. We turn the faucet on just a drip and she puts her hand in it. Sometimes she brushes her teeth while we do her hair. Good luck

play her favorite video or tv show, sit her on your lap, and give her something to hold. i let my daughter hold her hair ties that i'm going to put in her hair, or i give her a toy to play with. it takes practice to get them to hold still, but eventually she'll get the hang of it. let her brush your hair once you're done doing her hair, so she can see what you are doing to her, mabye it will help her understand why she has to hold still. i love doing my daughters hair, little piggy tails, barretts, its so fun!

My daughter picks one of her dolls, and gets a brush and barrettes, and fixes her doll's hair, while I fix her hair.
This has worked for us so far.

well all u have to do is give them a toy, food, or turn the tv on and they will most likely hold still.
