After major back surgery, I was taking about 15-20 pills, incudiong 4 narcotics and they got me really messed up. I became super constipated and was only having bowel movements about every 5-6 days, and I normally have at least 1 bm every single day. Well, this was getting really painful and when I would have a bowel movement, it hurt so bad, that I would scream through the whole thing. So, I called my doctor and he has put me on some over the counter meds for it and since I have been taking them, I have a perfect bowel movement every single day. Try this - Senokot-S - 4 tablets twice a day and Dulcolax - 3 pills once a day. Be faithful taking these and they get you back to working normal again. Best of luck to you!

ur bowels dont have to move every day. each persons body acts differently. of course, eat foods with fiber and drink plenty of fluids, get some exercise and u might think this is funny but, go every morning when u get up, an sit on the commode, even if u dont feel like having a bowel movement. soon ur body will react to ur going each morning, an sitting for 5 to 10 min. every day. but dont strain. also get u an over the counter stool softner an take as directed an this should fix u right up. god bless

It helps if you have a set routine, like getting up at the same time everyday and sticking with the same breakfast such as oatmeal and fruit, and a piece of whole grain bread for fiber. Excersice also helps things move along.

Bran for breakfast helps a lot. Drink lots of water, 6 glasses or so a day. Be sure to get out and move around. Get your fruits and veggies. Not everyone goes everyday--every other day may be healthy for some.

lots of water is the main trick, paired with some apples and even pears will work well. also there's this new yougurt that my sis (with IBS) uses, it tastes really good too! it's called Activa and you should eat 1 every day for 14 days to regulate yourself.

Maybe you should see a doctor or go on a medication if you have constipation. Otherwise just sit down on the toilet and push! Good Luck! :-)
