Out on a walk today, a cat approached fiance and me - she literally followed us home! She is very affectioniate, has no collar, his big pink nipples and big belly. She has been camped out on our front doorstep all day.

I've been looking around the internet and I think she may be pregnant. I am going to take her to the vet and/or search around and see if she already has a family tomorrow.

Until then, what can I do? I already gave her some food and water.

Fiance won't let me bring her indoors due to very bad allergies - but I can put a box with blankets in the carport...other suggestions?

Sounds like you're doing everything you should be! If it's cold at night where you live you might let her into the garage with a box and snuggly blanket - especially since you don't know how close she is to giving birth. Good luck at the vet's tomorrow!

Overall, mama will be able to handle the birthing on her own. Things to watch out for are if she delivers a few kittens and then spends more than 45 -60 min straining to deliver the next. That's a trip to the vet ER clinic. Also, make sure she cleans the kittens as they are born - the amniotic sac won't break on it's own, so she or you needs to do it so the kittens can breathe.

I would try to contact the humane society or a rescue organisation that could find a foster home for her so she can have her kittens in safety and comfort. Rescue organisations frequently advertise in local newspapers with ads for cats for adoption. They might not be able to take her and also are experienced in handling this situation and could make good suggestions for you.

Also your bf is not going to die or anything if she is inside tonight or for a few more days.

The vets at the clinic where I take my cats are such cat lovers they would take her there in the clinic and find a home for her and all the kittens she produces. Maybe the vet you take her to tomorrow will have a solution for you.

She must belong to someone. She is affectionate and tame. Maybe you could put up flier around town asking if any one knows this cat. Give her description. You have done what you can to help her be comfortable and warm. Thank you for caring. Maybe you can find her owners. I hope so.

I think you've got it. She will most likely give birth just fine on her own, but if you happen to be around and notice she's having trouble, you can assist. Just try not to handle the kittens too much early on.

The poor kitty is trying to adopt you. Please give her a home and try to find a home for her babies when they are old enough. A pet store might take them.
