If you boil the jello extra long, it often turns very rubbery, doesn't melt. good luck

Nobody has it right yet.! A container of sufficent size, pour in about 1" of Jello, let it set. Place the item on the Jello. You can use the same or a different color Jello to encase the item..I would mix the Jello a little light on water so that it sets rather firm. You can't make it to thick.....

HAAA
I saw this on The office...
Make the jello as instructed on the package and put in the fridge
Make sure it is in a large enough container for the item...
about 1/2 way thru the time it takes for the jello to set test it to see if it is firm and place the object carefully into the jello and continue refrigerating until done.

*** For really heavy make sure the jello sets longer so that it can hold the weight.

Much luck to you & have fun

Buy a similar looking item to theirs, prepare jello according to directions for jello jigglers (uses less water and sets firmer), pour jello over the item in smallest container possible then let it set for amount directions say. Remove actual item from their desk and replace with jello encased one. Later surprise them with their unharmed item, but take a picture first while they are still mad.

Edit: In response to your added detail: it won't melt at normal room temps.

follow the instructions on the jello mix and when you're done with the mixture throw whatever you want into your mold (preferbly a coffee cup?) and thats it!!!
