im 18 and currently a senior whose college bound. there this girl in one of my classes this year whom i really am attracted to and think is gorgeous, shes a sophmore. shes REALLY quiet and doesnt have many friends. the problem is is that im spanish(peruvian) and west indian (guyanese), shes black. i think race could be an issue for her. but i really would like to see what could happen, besides most black girls i know of would NEVER realistically consider going out with some one of a diff race thats jsut my opinion. what should i do?

Well if you really like this girl all you can do is approach her and start from there. I am a young black woman and I have dated out side of my race. The way I look at it is if it is not a problem for the two of you then it should not be a problem for others. But If you are not strong enough to approach her then you may not be strong enough to deal with all the hate and discrimination that comes along with dating out side your race. Friends, family and the world. Other wise you go for it. Just be yourself and don't try to be someone you are not.

Dear current senior,
I was a senior last year, and it took me a while until I realized that senior year is your last chance to try things out. If you don't approach this girl, perhaps you won't approach another girl you find cute in college next year or perhaps later in the workforce.
If race IS a problem, she isn't worth the effort. In the process other girls might notice you (because there's nothing more attractive than a guy you can't have).
Pursue her; you may land yourself a hot date, make a new friend, and gain some confidence in the process
