just guessing, but i would think that after the first layer has hardened or been cooked or whatever the case may be. not really sure though.

You double dip, when you have your own plate or bowl and you take a bit and then if you feel you need more of whatever you are dipping into.
Dip after each bite if you like, since you have your own personal serving and no one else has to eat after you.
We have a lady at our work that won't eat awhole donut and she will cut it in half and leave the other for some one else to eat.
The half donut she left behind ends up on at her desk.

I love to double dip it's nice especially when ever one looks at you while at a party. Hey if you want to be in the spot light all you have to do is double dip and that will get every one's attention even the person who you have a huge crush on. Yep heads will turn.

Double dipping is a big NO-NO. You don't double dip out of consideration for other people.

My coworker did that an our office christmas lunch.
We were at the cheesecake factory. She took the fork she had been eating her lunch with and stuck it the salsa (that we were all eating) and took a forkful.
UGH! I bet the look of dismay on my face was priceless.
I swear this lady has no manners. It's bad enough she doesn't do her job and I have to pick up her slack AND she double dips.
What a fool. LOL

NEVER that is disgusting to begin with. Plus think about all the germs you are putting back into your food and then spreading to the people that you LOVE or care about. That is like telling them to lick your arm pit !!!!
