If you're looking for something funny to break the ice, I suggest this:
Point over her and say some silly exclamation (if she's into goofy humor) such as "Oh my stars! What's that?!" She'll look over there, and then rest your hand on her shoulder. "Oh, wait, that's just my hand." She'll laugh, it'll be a "WTF" laugh, but those are good. It makes you look like a fun guy.

Did you that the distance from here to here is the same distance from here to here?
The first "here to here" is the shoulder that is closest to you and the second "here to here" is the shoulder that you put the arm around.
