First, don't go with fad diets. You need to find a way to just change your way of eating to stay thin.
A doctor is really the only person who can help you SAFELY lose a lot of weight, but I can give you some info that will make you understand how weight is lost so you can diet in a more healthy way.
You can possibly lose that much weight safely. First hints to being successful: Don't cut your calories way down, don't overdo excercise to the point you damage joints, and don't lower your calories for more than 2 weeks at a time. Those 3 things will either make your body's metabolism slow down (you won't lose weight after a couple weeks of dieting), or will make you hate your diet, and it will be impossible to stay on it.
You need to cut fat, junk and sugar out of your diet. Here is a sample diet:
When you wake up: Healthy (low fat/sugar) Cereal with skim milk. (Product 19 or total is a good one).....eat until you are full, about 1.5 to 2 cups of cereal. If you are still hungry after that, drink a glass of skim milk.
Lunch: Sandwich. REAL Meat (if it has to be that unhealthy lunchmeat, make sure it is chicken turkey or ham and that it is low in fat), and whatever you want, as long as there is no mayo, butter, or oil on it. You can put a SLICE of cheese if you want.
Dinner: 1 to 2 cups of meat (no bacon or sausage), a starch (a small potato, 2 corn tortillas, a piece of bread, 1/2 cup corn, 1 cup of pasta)....you have 3 teaspoons of fat to deal with...you can put butter on your starch, or use it to cook the meat.
Between these meals, try to think healthy: Eat a couple pieces of raw veggies, and eat a raw fruit. If after all this, you are still hungry, drink a glass of skim milk.
You have to drink several large glasses of water while you are losing weight. There are tons of impurities that need to come out when you diet. You need the water to help them out of your body.
Do this diet for 2 weeks, then add about 500 calories every day for a week. This will give your metabolism a boost and keep your body from shutting down and hanging to the calories for later use. 500 calories is 6 cups of skim milk, 2 extra big bowls of cereal a day....read the nutritional info.
After the higher calorie week, go back to the original plan for another 2 weeks, then the higher calorie for the third...keep repeating this until you reach your goal.
Now...if you like junk, at the end of each week, give yourself something you really like. Don't worry what it is or how many calories it has. Eat it, and be happy.
Next is excercise. You have to excercise for about an hour, every other day. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular. I don't know how old you are. Just get up and move. Walking is the best. Do some light weighlifting after. Make sure you stretch and do abs (crunches) every day.
If you are a big person (6ft tall or taller), you should be able to lose weight faster, but the average person loses about 2 pounds a week if they are doing everything by the book. Anything faster than this for a normal-sized person will only make their body stop losing weight after a few weeks.
Be sure and talk with your doc about what is best for you.
Good luck.

I have been working really hard to get a lean body. I go to the gym every day, watch what I eat, but still could not get the body I wanted. That was until I found this body cleansing stuff. I was able to get the great body I wanted in 9 days. I did a 9 day cleanse and lost 15 pounds and 17 inches, 3 inches from my waist! I had been working so hard for over a year to get this, and this program gave me what I wanted in 9 days. I found out that many body builders use this to get ready for competitions because the protein in the shakes builds muscle and the cleanse helps to get rid of the toxins stored in the fat cells. When the toxins are removed, the fat cells shrink and you definitely can tell in the way your clothes fit! I recommend this product for anyone wanting to get a better looking body quickly. I found out about it at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. It is expensive but it works! You can get cleansing info at this website http://GetAnewBod.com

1200 calories a day and within the 1200 calories make sure that you get at least 100 grams of protein. Then walk 20-30 minutes a day! I buy the herbalife products and I LOVE their shakes. I have one every morning for breakfast! The cookies-n-cream flavor is soooo yummy! in the past 3 months I've lost 20 lbs..4% body fat...and 22 inches total off of my body!

Chopping off your legs would provide the same result...
Oh wait, you want your limbs intact? Don't eat unhealthy stuff, stay the **** away from any low-carb diet. Basically, no diet plan really works without damaging your health. Best way is to eat smaller portions, of course of healthy food. Eat junk food and it's game over.

I don't think so,most important is to exercise.Start walking every day five days a week, for 45 min. Then do 40 crunches, twice a day first thing in the morning before brushing your teeth. And before you go to bed at night,be sure to eat your regular meals, important do not skip meals. Then stop thinking or worring about good or bad carbs, youll need food in order to loose weight.Without food the body goes into starvation mode, then it becomes absolutly impossiable to loose weight. The refuses to let the go!!

If you can combine the Atkins idea with calorie watching program, you will do better. Fifty pounds by June will be easy. If you incorporate some light aerobic work with this, it will be that much quicker and easier.
