I have black hair and want to get blonde highlights. Should I leave it black or dye it brown then put the blonde highlights. I DONT want it to look "natural." I am going to go to a proffesional.

DONT DO IT!!...is your hair naturally black ....or have you dyed it?....because if its not your natural black hair color the blonde highlights later turn green...its because of the previous dye....you should talk to your hair professional and ask her about it....most likely she would want to take your dye out because black dye is a very difficult color to work with!...but if its your natural black i would think it would be fine...the style you are going for is really cute!

Brown with blonde highlights. I know someone who had black hair and then did a blonde bang... everyone started calling her a skunk!

Go ahead and put the blonde in. That's the style now. The blonde hair with the black, purple, or red ends or underneath.

Look go for fun, as you're doing. As the colourist to give you high and low blonde highlights which will make your hair even more fun and awesome looking. I did the same thing last summer and WOW people loved it -- because it was done properly (professional) and they knew it wasn't real but it was a gas! Enjoy yours!!!!! You're gonna luck smashing!

I say go for black! But, you have to get really light highlighting product to make it look "unatuaral." Do very little if you want it to show up faded, but cake it on and leave it for more time if you want it to look very strong.

I think you should dye it brown and then get blonde highlights. I think it is so cute. Plus, you see everyone with brown and blonde highlights.so, then you would be in style.
