Best mountain in Vermont is Mad River Glen. Great skiing, great atmosphere. But it's definitely an expert's mountain.

Killington is great. Good Apres-ski, lodging choices, and variety of terrain to ski. If that's to far, Okemo is great as well just not as much of a night life. It's also much more of an intermediate's mountain. Can't go wrong with either of them.

I went to Loon Mountain once and I loved it! Very quiet, a great choice of slopes, and the people were extremely friendly.

If you check out that website, they have tons of places to go skiing around here. :)

If you are thinking about going a bit further south, I suggest Butternut, in MA, Mohawk in CT, or my place of employment, Mount Southington, in CT. :)
