I suggest getting the CHI Silk Infusion and rubbing it throughout the hair (anywhere from a dime size amount to a quarter size amount, depending on how long your hair is). It is not greasy and is healthy. Next get a heat protecting spray (like Aveda Brilliant Damage Control or Motions Heat Protector- both are not heavy on the hair). After you section your hair, make sure you LIGHTLY spray the heat protecting spray on your hair before putting the flat iron through it. I LOVE my CHI flat iron. It is ceramic, which is less damaging to the hair and it leaves the hair silky. When done straightening the entire head, THEN apply a dime size amount of Farouk BioSilk Silk Therapy. Whalaa, your hair feels really smooth and smells pretty. Most importantly, it is healthy!! Good luck!

The absolute best product is called Silk Drops from FX Special Effects. Its better and cheaper than BioSilk. You can get it at any Walgreens, CVS, etc. Its awesome!

no. if you use it before (or after) drying or straightening it will make your hair LOOK smooth and healthy, but it doesn't actually protect it from damage.
