I need to know how to lose 20 pounds amonth I'm 23 and I'm over weight please help.

You can't lose 20 lbs in a month in any healthy way.

You have to change your eating habits and exercise more.

Instead of sitting at the computer get up and go for a walk. When you come back make a meal plan for tomorrow. Choose foods you know are good for you and eat smaller portions than usual.If you don't have the right foods on hand you will eat your old stand-bys.
If you have chips and other foods you know you shouldn't eat trow them out or give them to a food bank. Don't buy any more goodies or you will end up eating them.

Always eat breakfast. Use skim milk. Limit fatty foods and fill up on veggies. You and everyone else should eat at least 5 veggies a day. Cut up carrots, celery, cucumber, peppers and keep these on hand. Buy string cheese and low or no fat dairy products. Eat salads but only use a bit of dressing as that is where all the calories come from.

No fast food!!! No fried food!!! No cookies, cakes, or sweets!!! No soft drinks.

Drink lots of water or tea. Caffeine will make you feel hungry so go decaffeinated.

Eat lean meats especially chicken and fish.
Eat things with fiber as these will fill you up and keep you from being hungry. Popcorn without butter--you can buy the new packs of popcorn that have just 100 calories per bag. If you feel you have to have a snack have a piece of fruit.

Try the South Beach Diet. Borrow it from the library. There will be other books on dieting there too.
Don't forget to exercise everyday for 30 minutes at least.

To start with you didn't gain 20 lbs a month and you can't lose that much in a month and stay healthy. Have a more realistic goal like averaging 2 lbs a week, focus mentally on how you will feel and look when you are at your desired weight. Create the mental image you want and it will help you stick to the diet.

Excercise is the key, with a low fat diet,but if you lose 20 lbs in a month your chances of becoming ill are 100%, you have to do it slow & easy, the slower you lose weight the longer you keep it off.
