I REALLY want a good, nice, cheap camera. Not like dirt cheap but a reasonable price for someone who can only earn money from baby-sitting. So i want a good camera with a screen on the back that takes good pictures and if you can, make it in a good price range!

Please Help!

You have lots of options.

Sonys are not bad, but generally they cost more and the memory stick costs more. Stay away from HP (poor lenses and flimsy build), Polaroid (bankruptcy has put them behind the digital curve), Samsung (better choices for the same money) and any name you've never heard of.

Canon makes very good cameras at good prices. They have several models under $250 that are well thought of and durable. Look at Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, and maybe Fuji, although Fuji also has a memory card that is a bit more costly. I have had a Nikon, Olympus and Canon. I shoot Nikon film cameras, but actually liked the Olympus and Canon better in digital.

Most cameras have at least 4 or 5 megapixels or more. That will be plenty. Look for optical zoom (good) and ignore digital zoom (useless, degrades image quality)

Budget for a bigger memory card. Sometimes cameras are on sale with a larger card included. You will need at least a 256mb, 512, or 1G. This week, my lab has a 1G on sale for $24.99. so be sure to look for a good deal.

Finally, read your camera manual. Learn what the settings are and how they affect your pictures. Buy a book on beginning photography, Kodak used to have a good one.

The take pictures and have fun!

It depends on your budget first ... camera in a range of 700-800$ results in good quality picture just go for pentax or nikon and if u can go higher go for nikon in 1500 range and dont forget to buy the zoom lense

I just recently bought a digital camera for $129 (normal price is $179). It's a great camera.

HP Photosmart R725.

It's sold at Target.

take a glance on the Olympus Stylus SW sequence of cameras. they are ask your self-evidence to a 5' drop and water-evidence. IMO those are significant issues, when you consider that maximum digital cameras die from being dropped or drowned.

I will recommend the Kodak EasyShare C533 its $130.
Also it has 5.0MP,3x optical zoom, and 1.8" LCD Screen Size.
don't forget to to buy a memory card
a 1GB one goes around $30-$50 dollars and can get about 350 pictures
with a camera thats 5.0MP.
also don't forget to buy a service plan to protect your camera.
this is in case anything happens to your camera.around $20 dollars.
and also buy a case for it so it won't get scratched.there around $7-20 dollars.
Good Luck!

Nikon Coolpix L4. Its around 130. You might even find it cheaper if you look around. Its a great camera and you cant just slip it in your pocket and go.
