Don't you know how to be creative?
Go with him, take the 1 pint. Wait for him to go to the bathroom, and drink his too. Then wander around the pub, looking for half full beer people have left unattended, and drink those too. It's perfectly possible to get drunk without much cash, just be a bum. Also, drink everything through a straw, maximizes the effect of the beer.

Yes if only to be socialable, you can make the pint last a couple of hours while your chatting and that way your not letting your neighbour down and except his generosity theres not many of them guys around..............enjoy your pint.

I'd refuse as I would hate for someone to buy me one and me not being able to pay for a round. I'd thank the neighbour and ask for a rain check though, as it's a lovely gesture.

One drink isn't expensive. If someone offers to buy you a drink so you will come out it shows that they value your company. I've been on both sides of this situation. Go and enjoy the drink.
