I have constant headaches, hightheadedness, and a squeezing feeling in my head. I ofton hear crackle noises and get a strange involuntary movement of my head. its not bad, but enough to bother me.I also have been experienceing a decreased mental function. not understanding things like I used to. ( the simplist things take forever to figure out) for example locking a simple door. I never used to be like this until a year ago and its progressing pretty fast. does anyone know what this could be?
I don't have high blood pressure and I'm only 18

You should get yourself checked as soon as possible, decreased mental function in someone your age is not a symptom you should ignore, especially when it is combined with the other symptoms that you have mentioned... please go see your doctor, as you will not get an answer to your problem until proper testing has been done...

I wish you all the best with your health.

This could be anything from migraines to spinal meningitis or as serious as a tumor but until you are properly tested it isnt safe for anyone to try and diagnose this symptom except a doctor who can run cat scan or MRI tests to be sure. If it has been going on for a year it is most likely not Meningitis and sounds like a migraine disorder but migraines are usually a symptom of some other disorder all together or improper nutrition so schedule an appointment with a doctor ASAP. Dont wait because if it is something less serious you dont want it to become critical and think positive. The mind has a profound affect on our health and healing.

Going to the doctor would be a good idea - I hope you can see one for free.

I suffered from similar symptoms when I was 18 too (am 52 now) and studying a degree in two subjects at university. I went to the student counselling service and the health centre doctor, and was diagnosed with depression. The antidepressants I was given did help after a while, but talking to a trained counsellor every week helped a lot too.

I hope and pray you will be able to get help soon. Bless you!

There are several things that can cause this. One possibility is low blood sugar which is like a car running out of gas. Low blood sugar occurs when a person doesn't eat enough food to carry them to the next meal or when a person eats sugary snack, which causes the body to start removing sugar from the blood stream. The other possibility is a migraine. Your symptoms seem to fit a migraine better than a blood sugar crash. Talk to your parents and have them make an appointment with your doc. It would be a good idea to have a glucose tolerance test as part of the visit. There are several prescription medicines that stop migraines, so the doc might give you a prescription if he/she determines that you have migraines.

See you doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

I have some of your symptoms when I have a sinus infection. But you have had this for a year? Talk to your parents and see your MD.

make an appointment w/your Dr. and make sure he sends you to a neurologist. they'll be able to figure it out and don't listen to the other guy that answered, you're not a hypochondriac

Goto WebMD (www.WebMD.com). They have a symptom checker. If that doesn't work, I'd go to a doctor immediately!!

you should go to a doctor and tell them this.
the headaches and lightheadedhess could be lack of food.
when you get headaches & lightheadedness, try eating something and see if they go away.
