Given that they wouldn't even know about Christianity without that book, you could say that. When you say anything about God, they always default to "The Bible says..." or "God's Word says..." (though usually it's in all caps).

Christians do not worship their bible. The bible is a book of history and law. There's a lot of capital punishment in the bible, but most of that has become outdated with society (you can hear about this at www.myspace.com/deosshadow - listen to their song "Anything for You").

Depending on what you mean by genuine God, they have a set of beliefs that work for them. ^_^ So that makes it genuine in my view.

Now if I saw someone worshiping a carrot... That's a whole different ballgame.

Yes they worship a book!
Their God is nothing more then the church!
This is evidant because to question the church / religion is to question God!

After all there never was a real God! The God idea was created by people who wanted to control others and have a reason to kill those different from themself! This God idea gives them license to be as evil as they really want to be!!!

Many are a lot more worried about what the book says than their experience with God. It's very sad. But some do connect with God and make that their main focus, and that's really great. I know people like that and that's the kind of thing that realyl does change your life for the better. Those by the book Christians are really missing out.

No. I worhsip the G-d OF the book. His word guides me into all of the truth that exists about Him within the pages of the scriptures. He is more real to me outside of the pages of the scriptures then any character of any book you care to mention. When I worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (according to His Word) His joy is made present in my life. As I allow His Love to flow through me, people are blessed. A book cannot do that.

All you people answering with "they", what qualifies you to answer?

No, we don't worship the Bible. It is a tool to understand the God we serve. We do worship and revere the one true God.

I don't know how all you people who don't even know God think you are qualified to answer questions about the Christians who do know Him.

Well, some Christians believe that there is nothing religious outside the Bible, and therefore, in a way, may worship God as an object, rather than a subject.

No. Christians worship God. No other name, just God, and his son Jesus Christ. Hence "Christ"ians. Other than that the religion is very similar to Judaism and Islam. They come from some of the same people early back.
