Not sure if you are USA of BRITAIN?
CRAIGSLIST is the best site online, however it is very impersonal and you get a lot of weirdos on there. The best suggestion I can think of is to go to your local music college and advertise or maybe suggest it to the tutors as a project??

I would try putting an add in the paper. I mean, that may not exactly be free...You can try looking online in places like myspace where you can meet groups of people from your area that you may be able to collaborate with.
