Sounds lovely. Heres a sugestion for the note on the packets.
LOVE GROWS
With every marriage a seed is planted that when given kindness and understanding, will grow and blossom into enduring love
You could order seed packet favors here or make your own similar to these.

Its appropriate, but maybe not practical. Are these edible sunflower seeds or plantable? If plantable, I would say no since you can't expect everyone to go home and plant them...it would be a waste of money. I always recommend something edible which can be as simple as M&Ms or Ghirardelli chocolates (which you can get in fall colors as autumn approaches.) Another idea might be to make fall themed cookies (in the shape of leaves) and put them in cookie bags

That is a great idea!! I did something like that for my sisters wedding with daisy seed packets (daisies were her flowers) I cannot remember the saying we put on it though. Let me look and I'll let you know!
I am getting married in July and want to do the same sort of things! Good luck!!!

HAHA.....no : / but u make up for it with the note so it's 50/50..... clever idea and very creative. At first i thought it was the stupidest idea (no ofeense) but now I truly like it! Definatly have sunflowers, what else, mints, everyone does that.

It works for me. At my daughter's wedding, we gave tree saplings wrapped in burlap & ribbons & a poem. They were a huge hit & now I see them growing at my friends houses.

I think that would be adorable if dressed up right - place them in cute organza bags (cheap on ebay) or somthing like that to make them look great.
