My boyfriend thinks that if we are torn down the middle about deciding something, that the man ultimately should make the final decision, as that is the way history goes. Is it just me or is he being a pig?

I would have 2 say he is being a pig. In this day and age women have just as much a say as men do and if he thinks men are superior, he might not be the right guy for you. You should explain to him that women can have just as much say as men and your choices need to be as respected as his. Men can be wrong.

Totally. You guys should mak ethat decision together. A woman sometimes is more sensible too. Your boyfriend not only does sound like a pig but if he is a drunk too and treats you like crap when he does tell him to stop drinking and help him with that or if he refuses or says yeah and still does it, sweetie dump him. You deserve better.

He needs to learn to compromise. A healthy relationship is a two-way street, with BOTH partners willing to give and take. This isn't about history - this is a selfish individual putting his needs and wants over yours. If he won't budge, get a new boyfriend.

Historically, men called the shots because a woman was a virtual slave, totally dependent on her closest male relative for her support. There's no need for that now, and you shouldn't put up with it.

He is being chauvanistic. You should both either make the deciscion or flip a coin. The days of men being the deciders of a woman's fate are long gone. Your man needs to get with it and grow up!

Yeah, pretty much he's a pig. Either you 2 compromise or agree to disagree. That is caveman mentality. Good luck.

He's a sexist male chauvinist pig. How dare he think that women have no real right to their opinions! Kick him to the curb.
