I recently got my belly button pierced like about 1 month and a couple of days ago and i have a regular plain ring and i want to already change it to nicer ones!...my friend changed hers after a month and its perfectly fine but my cousin's got infected so im kind of scared!...it looks pretty good to me, so i know its not infected....what i have noticed is that it gets dry and it turns pink but it doesnt hurt and no pus is coming out or anything like that...so what do you guys recommend should i wait more or just change it?...im scared to take it out though and insert another one....will it hurt?

I think I waited about 6 months before I changed mine out.
Wait till you can move your current ring around without it hurting.

First, the salt (saline) solution is not a bad idea to use anyways, so use it if you can find it. Second, Dial soap is antibiotic, so keep using that and NOT alcohol!!! The dryness is no big deal so don't fret over it please. Some people heal faster than others do. If the piercing is still pink and dry in a week, just wait for a few more days. Better to be safe and pain free than sorry!! See how your piercing feels in a few days before pulling it out and changing it over to your new one. Soak the new one for about an hour and a half in slightly hot salt water solution to sterilize it and wash your hands with the Dial before changing it out. If the hole hurts at all as you're pulling the threaded(the end with the screw lines) part out, STOP!!! It's not ready yet! Give it some antibiotic topical ointment to help prevent a flare-up of infection and wait a little longer before attempting to change it out again. Depending on the metal(surgical stainless steel or titanium alloy), the hole can also heal at a different rate too. When your all healed and you've changed it out to your new one, go out and have a night on the town!!!

You need to keep your piercing clean and consider that correct healing is more important at this time than a cute piece of jewelry. To be on the safe side, you should wait about 6 months, however, you are free to change the jewelry soon, just hope for no problems. Everyone is different, its hard to say, but as a general rule of thumb, I say 4 months at the very very least (but always better safe than sorry...if you are unsure about it, wait)
Don't take risks. Keep the area clean, see your piercer if you have problems. Wait AT LEAST 6 months to change the jewelry and be sure the jewelry you use is of high quality metal and clean. Generally, if its been at least 4 months, no change in position is noted, there is no more pain, redness or puss you could probably change the jewelry then. If at any point you notice shifting in depth or position, redness, heated area, odd colored puss or blood, see your piercer as you may be having rejection.

I waited at least 3 months until I changed the ring that I had in mine. If you are dead set to do it, though, make sure you clean your fingertips, the new ring and the old ring (while it's still in) with alcohol and try to do it quickly. After only a month, that skin hasn't healed into that shape quite yet.

you need to wait atleast 6 months. The way your body reacts to certain things entering your body is what determines whether you get infection in the area.As long as you are following the instruction given to you by your peircer you should be fine. Its just better to err on the side of caution.I know you would hate to have to take the ring out due to infection.Besides you should make sure you are cleaning the opening and the ring to cut down on infection risk. You need to wash your hands before handling your piercing and dont let others touch it

i would wait a couple more weeks, before changing your belly ring, better be safe than sorry. once it has healed properly it wont hurt when putting in another ring. if it does get infected use mouth wash and salty water to clean it with, a few times a day unilt it gets better. goodluck
