Because without him our life has no meaning. If there is no God and we are all just accidents of nature then nothing you do in your life will ever matter at all.

All your relationships and all your activities are as significant as a bunch of termites eating a log - sure, they are a part of an ecosystem, but what kind of purpose is that? Its like being a small part of a machine that has no purpose. It is only with God that there is the possibility that you matter at all beyond the low level electrical charge running around in your brain.

Can you live without faith in God? Sure - but why would you want to? It is because you matter to God and his plan that our life has meaning and it is certainly the only way for you to exist at all once your time here has ended, so be careful what you wish for...

4. They have no friends.

I have often wondered if it is a human need. I do think that there is a God, although I am positive that He does not get involved with us here.
