We painted most of it Saturday. Second coat yesterday and touched up a few places today. We did all this indoors. I moved the paint can outside. The changing table is still inside. Paint fumes are still lingering. Will they go away? We used Rustoleum sateen finish smooth protective enamel; ideal for furniture, fixtures and outdoor decor. Says it is safe for childrens toys, etc.

I would put the changing table outside for a few days ( in a protected spot) or leave the windows open, to throughly air the room. I was told to place a bowl of milk or vinegar in the room overnight, and to change daily, to remove the paint fumes - and it DID work.
Do NOT give the milk to the cat afterwards, though !! Just pour it out.
Congratulations on your upcoming *little arrival* !

I'm not familiar with that particular brand but most of the paint companies have customer service and Q & A sections. I would check out their website. If the smell is still there I suspect it is an oil base paint.

I can't figure out why people use that because oil base paint is so hazardous to the environment, takes forever to dry and you can't dispose of it as you can other water base paints. Check that out and next time look for a child safe water based paint or "latex" paint. The latext paint is just as durable as oil paint (unless you are painting a well used floor or something like that) and much easier to work with. It dries in minutes and there is no smell whatsoever.

Put a fan in the room and/or crack a window. Just get air circulating in the room and in a day or two it'll be good to go.

Just open a window if you can. Should only linger for a couple of days.

You should leave it outside until the smell goes away

One week should suffice.
