it is a part of evolution that dates back to our prehistoric, primitive ancestors. The main purpose of the human species was to reproduce and populate the earth, which meant that the man who spread his seed the most, and impregnated the most women, was most likely to advance his gene pool to the next generation. Conversely, the woman who stayed home and dedicated herself to providing a stable home and protecting her children from danger and predators, increased the probability that her gene pool would advance to the next generation.

This appears to be a double moral standard, but it actually has its foundation in a biological, and antropological-social purpose.

Because YOU'RE a GUY. You have two heads, and one is in your pants. Your question just indicates that you're thinking with the wrong head. It is some times said that men offer conversation to get sex, and women offer sex to get conversation. Most of the women you call tramps have simply lost their emotional compass. If you meet such a woman, talk to her instead. BTW, here's a joke:
Why is it bad to be an egg?
You only get laid once. You only get eaten once. You have to share one box with eleven other eggs. It takes you ten minutes to get hard, and three minutes to get soft. And only your mother sits on your face. :-)
Treat all of your partners with the utmost respect. Even without love, sex is a kind of mystical experience. Slow down and enjoy it.

Because men and women both allow the double standard. It is a cultural belief that boys sew their wild oats and girls remain pure. Only problem is where do the girls that the boys sew their wild oats with fit into this? Both men and women should be judged by same standards. Both are equally involved in this. We don't all consider the man a stud because he is sleeps around. Personally I think that makes him a dawg.

Not everyone thinks that a man who has many partners is a stud. Most women won't that's for sure.

It is the old double standard, and it's been around since the old times. If you think about it, girls even call other girls tramps! This judgementallness is ridiculous anyway. People should mind their own business.

Women were once considered the keepers of a decent society and held themselves up to higher standards and moral values. Women were supposed to be the more sensible, more refined sex. Now they're mostly "Girls gone wild".

Because society is stupid. I don't think a girl w/many lovers is a tramp, just a s-l-u-t and I love that.

It just is. I don't necessarily think a man is a stud, I'd say he's a whore.
