I'm insured with Geico currently I pay 326 for 6 months liability only on a 93 SL2 Saturn. I'm looking to buy a Jeep Liberty, I really like them, they gave me a rough quote of 1210, every 6 months. Does this seem a bit high, never been in a crash & have a clean driving record. I've always had really good rates... Does this seem about right?

Well, if you only had liability only on your Saturn and then with a new vehicle have to have comprehensive and collision, that is not all that surprising. You're not buying the safest vehicle on the road, so along with increasing your coverage you are getting, you have a rate class for that kind of vehicle. But if you think that's steep shop around. Just make sure to get the same coverages quoted so you're comparing apples to apples. If you get a lower price with someone, but they quoted a lower liability limit and a higher collision or comp. deductible then you really aren't very well informed.

That sounds a little high. Is it full coverage? If so, you could probably save money by raising the deductibal amount to 1000 or by dropping some coverage.
If I were you, I'd get some other quotes as well. I'm all about being loyal to a company, but not if I can save money with someone else ;)
I saved about $100 a year going from progressive direct to progressive through an agent one time. I dont' know why, but it worked. I also insure my motorcycle through another company, because progressive wanted like $700 a year, and the company that specialized in motorcycle insurance was about to do it for under $200. Shop around, you'll probably find a better deal.

You are going from a used probably 4 door car, to a brand new full coverage four wheel drive vehicle. You would be paying full coverage if the vehicle is financed. $200 a month for the jeep isnt that bad, was paying almost that amount for my 18 year old daughter on her liability only on her 4 wheel drive suv. It still doesnt hurt to price comparison with other companies

The Liberty has high rates because it is a 4x4 SUV and prone to rollovers. In addition they are expensive to repair. Liberty was lowered by 2" in 2003 in order to try and make them safer but they still have a high accident rate. Also consider that comprehensive pays off the vehicle, so the more expensive the vehicle the more expensive the insurance rate.
You can always shop around for better rates.

Your key word here is "Jeep". Jeeps are top heavy and are easy to rollover. Insurance companies charge tremendous premiums because of this. Look into a different SUV. You'll find something else you like that may be similar to a Jeep Liberty. I like them too but won't buy one solely because of the insurance rates. Good Luck.

I would look around some more too, but keep in mind that Jeeps have a high roll over rate, which is probably why it is so expensive. My Taurus is the same way, though I am not sure why, since it isn't any small light weight vehicle!

Depends on your age and driving record. The Jeeps are considered a higher risk due to the fact that when they are taken off-road, there is a higher risk of a roll over and a "total loss". You are better off buying an older SUV, if you really need one, or a safer risk vehicle, at least until your driving record improves or you are older, or both.

It wouldn't hurt to look around at other insurance companies. I have AAA whom I like a lot.
