i recieved a bottle of wine from my grandfather before he died. its a bottle of bardi but its literally four feet tall with a large botton and a neck that narrows to the top like a long flute, its red in color and the base sits in a woven basket. the top has all sorts of tassles on it the label reads bardi chianti and its one gallon. the woven base it sits upon is red and tan. what do you think its worth?? yeah i know its weird i think he just liked the bottle and never drank it.

These bottles are sold to tourists in Italy still (though ho wyou get them on the plane with the security rules I don't know).

They are souvenirs, not really wine for drinking. So the wine is worth nothing (too old, not good enough) and the bottle is worth whatever you can get for it, (I'd say nothing, but someone somewhere in e-bay land may fancy it)

Sorry -- better cancel that order for a Merc.

Not very much at all really. You will see these in some Italian restaurants but it is really pretty cheap stuff. Chianti is not an expensive wine at all. But if you were not asking about selling it I would say it could have a lot of sentimental value.

II doubt if it is worth anything---it's chianti.Cook up a big batch of pasta with meat sauce and buy a couple of loaves of bread, call your friends over--eat, drink and be merry.

google it and see what you come up with. Also where/how you've been storing it will determine if it's still any good. They say to store them on their side in a cool dry space.
