Please list reasons WHY school uniforms are a waste of money...you know the REASONS!

1. Girls like them shorter than the nuns do, therefore they cut their skirts shorter, and waste a lot of cloth.
2. The cloth ends up in the environment with a lot of other unnecessary items.
3. The money could be used for a nice meal for a family.
4. It inhibits any type of individuality.
p.s. These are JUST the reasons why they are, but when I was in school we had to wear a uniform, and that was so much easier for my parents. They had 5 of us, and think about all the hours of them having to get our clothes together, PLUS, they both worked full-time, one during the day and one at night.

I'm putting my child into a school with uniforms this coming fall and they are not a waste. It's actually cheaper to buy a uniform then your child coming home saying "Mom, I just have to have the latest jeans, shoes, tank tops, etc." Then the kids that come from parents that are struggling with money can't keep up with the trends and the child is considered an outcast at school.

Actually, school uniforms are not a waste of money. For many parents, it streamlines and standardizes the school clothes buying process. With uniforms, they can cut down on the number of other crappy clothes they have to buy for you that you'll just quit wearing in a few months anyway because your friends don't wear them anymore.

well you have to respect the dress code that any school as... uniforms or not... but uniforms are a waste of money if you only plan on attenting this school for a certain amout of time. but if you are going to be there for a while then they are not, but in my opinion if a school wants you to have a uniform then they should have to provide it.

I agree with school uniform. From what I have seen in public schools, I think all schools should have them. It is like a damn fashion show, and the 6 and 7 year olds with thongs hanging out of their pants because "mommy does it" it unacceptable.
