you are right.
BMI is moronic. It is better than weight, but it is still moronic. Especially with the electronic body fat % calculators we have today (not as accurate always, but it will ALWAYS be more accurate than any other non body fat % method).

It's very true that BMI calculators are fallible. They take into consideration only two factors -- your height and your weight. Yet, muscle mass weighs much more than fat, and that alone can throw you into a higher BMI even if you are more fit and slim than someone your same height and weight. For example, Shaquille O'Neal has a BMI that puts him in the "obese" category, which we all know is ridiculous.
That said, if you are overweight and trying to determine what a good weight for you might be, the BMI CAN be a useful measure. It shouldn't be the only factor you take into consideration, but for many people, it will be more or less accurate. It also is a lot more flexible in terms of upper-weight numbers than the old height/weight charts doctors used to use (that is, someone who ranks as "healthy" on the BMI scale was much more likely to be considered "overweight" on the older charts). This is progress, as we are starting to be a little more realistic and flexible when it comes to determine the "ideal" weight for someone's body.

How on earth do you have only 6% body fat? You are not supposed to have less than 10%-12% body fat as this is essential fat for health and survival. I understand if you are very muscular, but I can't help but wonder if you either had the body fat percentage tested incorrectly or you are possibly using other means to increase muscle mass, ie steroids.
A normal woman actually has between 18% and 30%. We can't all spend 2-4 hours in the gym everyday, so these percentages are pretty healthy. Female athletes/body builders obviously have less body fat, ie 10%-18%, but 6% is well beyond the boundaries of a healthy body fat percentage for any women.
As for BMI calculators, they are pretty useless when it comes to muscular people or people with small/large frames. They need to somehow cross reference BMI with body fat percentage and come up with some new way of deteriming whether you are underfat or overfat.

I agree, someone could be very athletic, tall and weigh 160 yet she could be a size two with a BMI of 24. A woman could be 5'3 weigh 115 and be a size 10. THIS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME EITHER! I suppose it could be a tool used to mark how much weight a person of that height can hold while still being healthy. But, I don't know I think they should come up with another system.

I'm five''a million and 110lb and i am a dimension eight to ten and i have received a 20.four BMI so if a eight to ten dimension is healthful for me undoubtedly a dimension 10 will have to be healthful for you as you're taller too so clearly you will have to be heavier! Plus do not forget should you do constant endeavor you're going to in general have extra muscle than common, so should you do endeavor then this maybe why the BMI mentioned you're obese as it is not correct whilst any one has higher quantities of muscle than traditional. YOUR NOT FAT SO DON'T WORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
