I am muscular and compact, I have less then 6% body fat and a six pack, here's the deal my BMI states it's at 25 when a healthy is 24-18 BMI. Has anyone had this happen to them? I hate it since the bmi is for people who dont lift weights or with people who have muscles, i wish there was a bmi for people with muscles

It probably is factoring the average person in America, most of who are fat. But muscle is heavier than fat so you are completely fine because you are balanced with muscle not fat.

My sister is the same way. She is a cyclist and so her legs are massive-all muscles not fat, and so she always seems to be "overweight" when she does a BMI calculation, even though she is average/normal. Don't worry too much about BMI.

Dont worry cause if you are very muscular with a BMI of 25 that is still fine it is healthy.

6% body fat??? You are still standing?!

From 1990: "Precontest body composition, estimated by seven-site skin fold measurements, showed men at 6 ±1.8% body fat and women at 9.8 ±1.5% body fat." (link)

This website has some weight ranges for various heights that are considered possibly healthy. They're pretty large ranges, trying to accommodate for different body types. However, if you are mostly muscle, you are certainly very fit. But 6% may be too lean for day to day? Maybe 6% for competitions?

you dont really need to know your bmi if your musculer (like myself), you can use yourown knowledge and expertise to decide wether you are fat or not.

it is harder for people who dont lift weights to tell if they are overweight sometimes.

you can be overweight but not show it as much as others
