The battlefield of love is where the push and pull of romantic relationships happen. Couples always have to work hard to make love work in the long run; there is no "happily ever after." We make our strategic moves - offenses, defenses - we gain some ground, we lose some of our heart, we gain some more understanding, we lose some of our naivity. It's give and take. Love is not really about battles, though. It's not about winning or losing. It's not a good analogy of love, but Pat Benetar didn't care. It sold records.
