Can anyone tell me whether there is a computer software to manipulate photos. To change an image, clothe an image and set backgrounds.

Along with adobe photoshop (which is quite expensive) there is also corel paint shop pro which is considerably more cost effective. I recommend version XI. It is a litter more user friendly for beginners than the adobe counterpart. If you only want to do minimal photo editing (like get out red eye or give someone a suntan) use corel snapfire. I use all three depending on what I am working with and what I want to do. i started out using adobe, then switched to using Corel when one of the reps gave me a copy for free at my last job. I don't use snapfire too much, only to create really cool calendars out of my photos.

Adobe Photoshop is the most widely used professional software to manipulate photos, and can be purchased online at www.adobe.com. It's quite expensive though.

There is a free program called GIMP which was developed as a bit of a "f-you" to Adobe and the ridiculous prices they charge for software. GIMP does the job, and the interface is not as "slick" as the Adobe counterpart, but if you just want to manipulate photos and don't want to spend any dough, this is what I would recommend. Comes with lots of tutorials as well.

Follow the instructions and download the appropriate version and patches for your operating system. Hope this helps.

Picasa. Go here:
http://picasa.google.com/#utm_source=en-us-more&utm_campaign=en-pic&utm_medium=et

It's free and does a pretty good job with minor touchups and basic photo editing. It's also pretty nice the way it organizes your photos. Hope this helps.
