ever since i cracked my skull..i havent been great at simple math(addition subtraction mutiplication division) i always use my fingers and "cheat ways" to help me..but i just want to know if its possible cuase the doctors said i wouldnt understand math at all..but i can ..just not some of it..thanks for any one who can help

It's really impossible to predict precisely what affects someone will have after a brain injury. So, yes, what you're describing sounds just as likely or "normal" as the inability to do math at all (or the ability to do it as you always could). The brain is a complicated thing -- we don't understand fully how it works even now. It's great that you have proven your doctors' predictions false and I'm glad you have figured out ways to compensate for the skills you lost!

actually dyscalculia could happen after sever head injuries like those u got,the area responsible 4 calculation located at the parietal lobe of the brain,unfortunately it could recover partially & slowly,training with some drugs that stimulate brain function can decrease time needed 4 recovery.
