You're fine. It is okay to be thin, although most fat people try to make a crime out of it.
Just rest assured that you're healthy and attractive. As you age, you will become increasingly attractive and your good health will be a tremendous asset.
Let's face it, in other countries, you'd look normal. In the US, we're all so fat that normal people look "too thin" to us.

Weight-height ratio is only one of many factors that you have to consider, if you are a very active person, you are just burning alot of calories due to physical activity, if not you are "blessed" with a really fast metabolism. This is a common issue for people with really fast metabolisms. They want to gain weight and they can't, it doesn't really matter how people perceive as long as you feel healthy. You should instead get your body fat measured, that way you know if your weight is healthy. I'm also 5'5, and I weight 190lbs, according to the weight-height ratio I'm very obese. I train 5 days a week, kickboxing and muay thai, and I can out-cardio some of the professional fighters, I'm just stocky,it's simply genetics.

If you really are trying to gain weight, I don't blame you. Some people have a very high metabolism and really aren't trying to lose weight. It's not terribly unhealthy, but it is underweight. If you want a new way to gain weight, try working out with weights to build muscle. Good luck!

its an ok weight I'm 5'6" and weigh about 135 lbs and i had a baby not even a yr ago before I got pregnant I weighed about 110 lbs at my weight now I can eat and eat and not gain weight but loose you just have high metabolism now but if you try to gain weight it might backfire when you get older and you have low metabolism so I wouldn't worry about what everyone thinks.

you just have a fast metabolism. I am the same way if I eat I lose weight or stay the same and if I eat less then I gain weight. I may not be as small as you, but i am smaller than alot of girls in most of my classes.

well i feel that as long as you exercise, and eat right then there should be no problem with your weight. it does seem low for your height, but perhaps you have a high metobolic rate that allows you to burn enery more quickly. Or it could even be serious like a hyperactive tyroid. But it could be completly normal. If your unsure check with a doctor.

drink protein drinks, I reccomend Whey Protein Podwer in Choclate, It does not have too much sugar, (4grams) Few Cals (100) and 20GRAMS of pretein per 8oz serving,
~Tip~ Add a dollop of whip cream (Redi-Whip) and u have the most delicious drink ever, DELICIOUS.
Basically you have to pack in the protein and begin lifting weights, not heavy ones like 5lbs thats it, you'll be toned and feel great.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
