I have a white parakeet with some gray on his head and little tiny bit of bright blue on his back and some on his chest other wise he is all white is this rare?

all white isn't incredibly rare, however they usually sell for higher prices. i have two, one of which is white and their behavior is no different. i guess it really depends on who you ask.

If his eyes are red then that means he's an albino... white parakeets that are not albinos are fairly common in pet stores but I've never seen an actual albino before. I do believe that's fairly rare. Do you intend to keep it? Maybe it's somebody's pet that got out; if you like you can check your local newspapers/Craigslist, someone may have posted an ad for a missing bird. I doubt there are any other albino parakeets flying around your town. It's pretty lucky that it came to you, most pet birds stand little chance in the wild but albinos are even worse off.

White parakeets are not extremely rare. True, they may not be as common as blue or green parakeets, but overall, they are not rare. They may sell for higher prices though.

I don't know if I would call them rare or not. When I had parakeets, I had a white one in the batch.

No, not really. Parakeets come in over 100 color forms but primarily in green (typical in the wild), various shades of blue, opaline, gray, white, yellow (lutino), pied (combination in one bird), and in various shades of these colors, some rarer than others.

Not so much these days,Just look for the one that seems sweet that's what I did for my parakeet Alfa.Back to white parakeets no parakeets are rare unless they go extinct.Which they probaly won't for years and many gererations to come.Same for all types of parakeets and if you want a site go here:http://www.google.com/images\parakeets.

There all types of parakeets - do you mean a budgie? If so that coloration isn't rare.
