The Bible is not a science book.

The Bible is a set of inspired religious writings intended to pass along to all people what God has revealed to us.

For example, the Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.

The religious truth is that God created everything and declared all was good.

The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.

With love in Christ.

1. LOL. Catholics are christians. They are the original christians...all other christian subgroups came after.

2. the bible writers knew nothing of dinosaurs. Behemoth and Leviathon are not descriptions of dinosaurs, as they were extinct 60 million years before the bible was written. If there really were creatures like Tyranosaurus and Apatosaurus wandering around Palestine 6000 years ago, I think they would have more of a mention then a couple of vague obscure references in the OT. Also, those are only 2....there were millions of species of dinos.

3. The human body is not perfect. It is full of systems that break down and make no "design" sense. Our pelvis and lower back is not well adapted to walk upright, and man is plagued by low back pain. The light receptor cells in the retina are covered by blood vessels that interfere with perception, and risk the retina tearing away. That is to many of us one of the strongest evidences of evolution, rather than Intelligent Design.

The bible does speak of the "behometh", but doesn't explain exactly what a behometh is, besides being a very large animal, so maybe that's a dinosaur. The bible doesn't specifically mention iguana's either, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I don't recall there being a long, specific list of every creature that ever existed. I don't know what you're expecting as far as explaining the human body. I don't think the bible is suppose to be a high school health book.

~~~ i ,,,, Like everything else throughout Time. It's called Editing. Just as Justinian and Constantine did in their day, a King named James eventually submitted HIS VERSION,,, and now this is the most popular version of OUR TIME. How many people do you think would form a new christian sect if a self-acclaimed Born Again Christian Leader named George Bush decided to publish his own Interpretation. Then we would have a battle between The King James Version and The Bushers. I hope you've had a Revelation,,,,
The whole point of the Bible is to say why we were created and what we're here for. God created it all. The human body is so complex it had to have been created by some divine being. There are many interesting scientific proofs in the Bible. Parts talk about the Earth being round and the heavens and galaxies.
The main thing is this: Have faith in God and he'll show you in his time. Just believe he will, and he will.
1. The word "dinosaur" is a contemporary word invented in the early 1800's. In the Bible they are called "Leviathon" or "Behemoth" or "dragon". Go to www.blueletterbible.com and do a word/phrase search and it should take you to the book of Job, chapter 38 or 39 I believe.
2. The Bible doesn't say the human body is "perfect". It says it "was perfect" but our fall from perfection in the Garden of Eden was also recorded and the affects of it. Sickness and disease is part of the fall. Death is also. Book of Genesis explains it in the first few chapters.
i'm fairly interested in Politics. I must be considering I merely took a Political technology direction this semester. I frequently learn about the yankee authorities, besides as the way it change into inspired by older governments like the Greeks and previous republican countries. And we had a good number of politica debates on a lot of subject matters, and we'd want to bypass insane with the debating. VIVA l. a. RAZA!
My honest answer - not every last detail of every last thing God has done is written in the Bible. It's really just a record of a handful of things He's done.
God never expected us to find all the answers to every last question in that small record. He also gave us brains to figure things out, and the ability to pray and ask Him directly for some answers too.
best wishes
Here is my theory, I suppose it's as good as any other. Adam and Eve were NOT stupid people they were created in God's image. Their immediate descendants were not stupid either. They probably had gene splicing down to an art form. Man created dinosaurs. There is fossil evidence of man and dinosaur in the same bedrock fossilized. I've seen it. The flood destroyed the dinosaurs. and with only Noah and his three sons and their wives most of that knowledge was lost. It even indicates that Noah spent some time in a cave. Cave dwellings were popularized after the flood. The top scientists of Noah's day told them that it was physically impossible for it to rain. After the waters of the deep were broken up this left the world with mountains and caverns that were not there before. Those some sought shelter in those caves.
In Job it talks about Leviathan- which is known to be a dinosaur.
And once sin entered the world, our bodies became imperfect- just like everything else....Have you read about the fall of man in Genesis 2-3?
