Well, the willpower thing really is the only thing holding you back. And I'm sorry, but nothing can be done without it. Even taking a pill each day requires willpower!
You say that diets do not work. They do - but they require will power to work, which is what you need to find.
I suggest that you must be quite young. To aspire to shop at TopShop and look like Kate Moss suggests someone who is in her early 20s - is this right? If this is the case then you are definately young enough for a small amount of excersise and a good diet plan to work for you.
I speak from experience, between the ages of 20-30 all I had to do was start on a diet and I could easily lose between 1 and 2 stone in 3 months. Willpower was needed though, but as long as I stuck with the programme I was fine. The first few pounds would melt off easily and then after that the motivation of losing 1 or 2 pounds and feeling better would spur me on. Since turning 30 though (and giving up smoking atthe same time) I have found it much harder. Years of dieting have walloped my metabolism and although its not impossible, it is much, much harder.
However, I am doing it and because my motivation is strong I have found the willpower.
First of all consider your motivation (I would rethink the diaz/moss look. Moss looks like a man or a 10 year old girl. It is very unsexy - she is just a clothes horse. Diaz has the worst skin I have ever seen, although she has a much more feminine figure)
Do you want to be healthier, a better role model for your daughter, fitter, live longer, less likely to get ill, fit into nice clothes (but dont shop at topshop unless you are 19!)
I suggest that you find yourself 2 things. First of all try a slimming club that you like the look of. I did WW for years but have since discovered Slimming World and I love it. Whatever the circumstance there is always something you can eat, and since I started I have not once gone to bed feeling hungry - or gone to bed feeling fat.
Secondly, find an excersise routine and stick to it - so that it becomes a habit. I know its hard to get out of the door and gyms/leisure centres can be expensive, but how about asking for the membership as a valentines/birthday present? Whatabout quitting the crisps (or whatever you buy that is really vbad) each week and using the money for a weekly swim instead?
Make it a habit by going at the same time each day/week and not giving it up for anything!
Once you start these 2 things you will have made the first steps. You dont say how overweight you are, but you could be buying a whole new wardrobe for the summer if you start TODAY!
Good luck.

Unfortunatley there isn't much you can do except diet and exercise. As much as magic pills say they will help you chances are they probably won't.. Or they only will temporary there are things you can take to help you in this process but not necessairly magically. First establish some sort of diet. start out slow ... like no more sodas... if you do drink soda drink diet. but even in diet the caffiene could be bad for you and they can still be high in sodium. Maybe stop the coffee stops? a lot of people drink so much coffee and we don't realize how many calories are in it. Substitute it with tea!!! green tea is delicious! did you know green tea jump starts the metabolism if you drink 1-2 cups a day daily? thats something you can try? its a good substitute for soda and coffee. how about more water? if you try to drink 8 cups of water a day you keep hydrated and healthy, it also helps the metabolism as well. So those are 2 things you can do just to start!!! maybe start with that and work on from there? some other tips.... south beach diet is really good maybe you can look into that. its a healthy lifestyle. I lost 30 lb in the course of 3 monthes a couple summers ago kept it off and it was really really easy. all you do is limit your food groups i didn't have to even exercise. if you want to lose large amounts of weight ... someone told me if you are really overweight and you work out an hour and a half a day you will see results. perhaps join a workout class or a kickboxing class you will be obligated to go to? then you will show up. personal trainers could be helpful. There are things you can try to help you as well. taking extra fiber is healthy and good. or eating extra fiber. Take your vitimin and craniums/ hoodia are both natural pills you can try that keep off hunger... make you feel full... you can buy them at those healthfood stores... snack on celery. I've seen all these things work. Eat half of your food instead of a whole plate. my friend lost 50lb that way!! He said it was easy once it became habit. ITs the new year tell yourself you can do it! it takes motivation but whe you realize that being overweight is unhealthy you should do something about it. If you do decide to diet prize yourself once a month when you lose weight. make a realistic goal and when you reach it give yourself a manicure... or a new pair of pants.. something that will make you feel better about yourself and give you willpower . You can do it! just tell yourself! do it for yourself and do it for your family. good luck

BE what you want to BE. Find out why you can't lose weight; keep a diary of food you consume and the reasons why you eat the things you do. Are you hiding behind the weight because if you lost weight you would be noticed more? It really isn't easy to face up to the fact that only you can make the difference - there are no easy ways to deal with this. You need to look at what influences you into staying the way you are. Don't aspire to be like people that don't exist in the real world - why don't you imagine being the mother of the bride and how you want to look on that day. It takes only you and two others - food reduction and exercise. Take care of yourself - you are too special to ignore the damage you do to yourself everyday, make the change one day at a time.

The only way to lose weight without resorting to surgery is by eating less calories than you burn off. Try cutting down a little at first and doing a small amount of excersise and increase this as you gain fitness.
I wouldnt aim to look like kate moss......she is like a clothes rail and most people would have trouble losing enough weight to be as skinny as her while remaining healthy.

You should make more attainable goals. You will probably never be as thin as Kate Moss and that is a GOOD thing. Same with Diaz.
You are who you are. If you think that if you don't look like these sick, WAY too thin models and actresses that you will die.....that is ridiculous.
Try an easier goal. Like losing 15 lbs. by February 28. When you reach that, then try another 15 lbs. by March 31.....and so on.
Stop making this an all or nothing deal...."Since I just can't look like a model IMMEDIATELY, then life is over!"
Come on, now.

you are the only person that can make yourself thin, i too am overweight and looking at my 11 month old son at the end of last year i decided enough is enough i don't want to be fat anymore, i don't want to be the mum of the kid where all of his friends bully him because she is fat, i was bullied at school too and yes that didn't help as i comfort ate, but you have to make the decision, do you want to be overweight for the rest of your life, or nice slim and fit and able to run around with your daughter. (i have just joined a slimming club and yes they do work i lost 7lb in my first week) exercise gently to begin the more weight you lose the easier it will become, and if you ever lack willpower look at your daughter. it works for me each time i look at my son. Good luck i am sure that you can do it. x

Try the G.I Diet hun, i've found it works for me. It's not so much a diet as a lifestyle to be honest.
I was on it last year and I lost 1 and a half stone. The steady rate of loss (about 2 to 3 pounds a week) really gives you confidence.

I can relate to exactly what you are saying. You sound just like my friend who is desperate to be slim. She eats very healthily but due to painful knee joints she can't over exercise so she walks 30 minutes a day and has been doing this for over a year, she has barely lost any weight and is feeling very disheartened still about her weight but says she feels better which is a bonus. I hope you find a way to lose weight sweetheart, good luck.
Eating healthily and Dancing is a great option!

I know you're saying you've got no motivation but you're not going to get slimmer (nor healthier) by not doing anything about it.
Healthy eating does work!
Exercising does work!
This isn't just about vanity. You're a mother and you are setting an example to your child. I'm sure you want her to be healthy and confident? Then set her a good example. Children learn by imitation and you are setting an example. Will your daughter subconsciously absorb your unhealthy relationship with food and body image problems? OK you had an unhappy childhood, but you don't want your daughter to go the same way? Also do you forshorten your life by not looking after yourself properly?
Respect your body, eat healthy, join an exercise programme.
